Hope Lost and Found:
Insights on God’s Plan of Salvation, Revival and Restoration
Part 7 — God's Kingdom Administration by His Spirit
by Harvey L. Diamond
Jesus was filled with a full measure of the Holy Spirit. For, the Holy Spirit had been fully manifested in Him. Isaiah prophesied this. He further prophesied that the Holy Spirit would manifest God's justice.
"Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,
My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,
Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
(Isaiah 42:1-2)
This same Holy Spirit was poured out upon the disciples after Christ's ascension, just as He foretold. Acts 2 records the event.
This same Holy Spirit indwells believers in the Lord —Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We have the opportunity to fully receive this gift of His Spirit; simply by asking.
For, it is the Spirit who gives life, and revives life in Christ. It is the Spirit who transforms our human nature according to God's order. It is the Spirit who brings believers from spiritual blindness and bondage to enlightenment and liberty of soul. It is the Spirit who transforms life from the former ways of the flesh to God's new order of the Spirit. It is the Spirit who transforms the ways of legalism and religiosity to the new ways of dynamic and invigorated life found through a personal and active relationship with Christ!
The disciples called the way of the Spirit "the Way." Isaiah prophesied about it as a "new thing."
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them."
(Isaiah 42:9)
"Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
(Isaiah 43:18-19)
